Durak is the most popular card game in Russia. Unlike most card games, the goal is not to win but to avoid losing - the last player with cards is the 'durak' (fool). It's an attack-defense game where one player defends against the others.
Historie
Durak emerged in Russia in the early 20th century and became immensely popular during Soviet times. It remains the most played card game in Russia and throughout the former Soviet states.

Strategie
Save your trumps for desperate defenses
They're precious.
Attack with pairs or cards of similar rank to make defense harder.
Passing the attack (playing the same rank to the next player) is a powerful option.
Don't waste high cards attacking
You might need them for defense.
Watch the trump card at the bottom
When it's drawn, no more trumps are coming.
Late game, having trumps matters more than hand size.
