Impara President: Regole

President (known by many names including Asshole, Scum, Capitalism) is a climbing card game for 3-8 players. Players try to empty their hands by playing equal or higher cards than the previous play. The first out becomes President, the last becomes the lowest rank.

Use a standard 52-card deck. Deal all cards as evenly as possible. Card ranking (high to low): 2, A, K, Q, J, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3. The player with the 3 of clubs starts.

1. 01The starting player plays a card or set of matching cards (e.g., three 7s).
2. 02Play proceeds clockwise. Each player must play the same number of cards of equal or higher rank, or pass.
3. 03When all players pass in succession (or a 2 clears), the last player to play starts a new round with any card(s).
4. 042s are typically the highest rank and clear the pile.
5. 05Continue until one player empties their hand (becoming President), then second place, etc.
6. 06The last player with cards becomes the Scum.
7. 07In subsequent rounds, Scum gives their best cards to President, who gives back their worst.

Finish first to become President (highest rank). Social hierarchy continues: Vice President, common players, Vice Scum, Scum. Rankings carry privileges/penalties in subsequent rounds.
