Overzicht
Klondike Solitaire is the most famous single-player card game, made popular by its inclusion in Microsoft Windows. The goal is to build four foundation piles from Ace to King while manipulating tableau columns of face-down and face-up cards.
Opzet
Deal 28 cards into 7 tableau columns: 1 card in column 1 (face up), 2 in column 2 (top face up), etc. The remaining 24 cards form the stock pile. Four empty foundation spaces await Aces.
Hoe te spelen
- Move cards between tableau columns, building down in alternating colors (red on black, black on red).
- Only Kings (or sequences starting with a King) can be placed in empty tableau columns.
- When a face-down card is exposed, turn it face up.
- Move Aces to foundations immediately. Build foundations up by suit (A-2-3...K).
- Turn cards from the stock one at a time onto the waste pile; the top card of the waste can be played.
- When the stock is empty, turn the waste pile over to form a new stock. You can go through the stock as many times as you like.
- The game is won when all four foundations are completed A to K.
Het spel winnen
Complete all four foundation piles (Ace through King in each suit). If you get stuck with no moves and no draws, the game is lost.
Strategietips
Always play Aces and Twos to foundations immediately - they never help in tableau.
Expose face-down cards whenever possible - they reveal new options.
Don't empty a tableau column unless you have a King to fill it.
In draw-3, be aware which cards are accessible - every third card from the stock.
Keep foundation piles balanced - don't build one suit way ahead of others.
Solve about 80% of Klondike games with good play (draw-3 is harder than draw-1).
