Genel Bakış
Gin Rummy is a two-player card game of skill combining melding and strategy. Players draw and discard cards to form 'melds' (sets and runs) while keeping unmatched cards ('deadwood') low. Knock when your deadwood is 10 or less, or go Gin with no deadwood.
Kurulum
Standard 52-card deck, typically for 2 players. Deal 10 cards each. Place the deck face-down. Turn the top card face-up to start the discard pile. Non-dealer may take the face-up card or pass to the dealer.
Nasıl Oynanır
- On your turn, draw either the top card of the stock or the face-up discard.
- Then discard one card face-up to the discard pile.
- Form melds: sets (3-4 cards of same rank) or runs (3+ consecutive cards of same suit).
- Melds stay in your hand until someone ends the round.
- Knock: End the round if your unmelded cards (deadwood) total 10 or less. Lay down your melds and deadwood.
- Opponent then lays off (adds cards to your melds) and shows their deadwood.
- Gin: Knock with zero deadwood (all cards melded) for a bonus.
- Undercut: If opponent's deadwood is less than or equal to knocker's, opponent scores.
Oyunu Kazanma
Scoring: Knocker scores the difference in deadwood (or opponent scores if undercut). Gin bonus: +25 points. Undercut bonus: +25 points. First to 100 points wins.
Strateji İpuçları
Keep your deadwood low - high cards are risky if your opponent knocks.
Watch what your opponent discards to guess their melds.
Don't discard cards your opponent recently picked up from the discard pile.
Middle cards (5-9) are most flexible for forming runs.
Consider holding a few turns before knocking to try for Gin.
An Ace-low run (A-2-3) is valid; the sequence doesn't wrap around (K-A-2 is not valid).
