Learn Naval Battle: Tutorial

Before battle begins each player secretly places their fleet of five ships on their own grid:

- Carrier (5 squares)

- Battleship (4 squares)

- Cruiser (3 squares)

- Submarine (3 squares)

- Destroyer (2 squares)

Ships can be placed horizontally or vertically but cannot overlap or extend off the grid. Click a cell to place the selected ship. Once all five are positioned, confirm your layout and the battle begins.

Once both players have placed their fleets, the battle phase begins. Players alternate turns.

On your turn, click any square on the opponent's grid to fire a shot at that position. You will find out whether it was a hit or a miss. Choose wisely — every shot counts!

After you fire, the result is revealed on the opponent's grid:

- Red peg — Hit! Your shot struck part of an enemy ship.

- White peg — Miss. Nothing but open water.

Meanwhile, shots your opponent fires at you appear on your own grid. Use the pattern of hits and misses to deduce where enemy ships are hiding.

When every square of an enemy ship has been hit, the ship is sunk and you are notified which ship went down.

In this example the opponent's destroyer (2 squares) has been completely hit and sunk. The sunk markers confirm both cells belonged to the same ship.

Keep hunting — sink all five ships to win!

The game ends when all five of one player's ships have been sunk. The player who sinks the entire enemy fleet first wins.

In this final state every opponent ship has been found and destroyed. Victory goes to the Admiral who combined sharp deduction with a bit of luck!
