Questions
Be the first player to reach 10,000 points through strategic dice rolling and scoring.
Use six standard dice. Players need paper to track scores. Determine play order (usually highest single die roll). Starting threshold is typically 500 points (you must score at least this on a turn to 'get on the board').
First player to 10,000 points wins. When someone reaches 10,000, other players get one more turn to try to beat them.
On your turn, roll all six dice. After each roll, set aside at least one scoring die or combination (see scoring below). You may then roll the remaining dice to accumulate more points.
Your chance of Farkle increases as fewer dice remain - stop with 1-2 dice unless desperate. Set aside high-scoring dice but consider leaving more dice for bigger combinations. Three-of-a-kinds are valuable - weigh the risk of breaking them up.
Some rules require exactly 500 to start, others any score. Bonus combinations: straight (1-6) for 1500, three pairs for 1500, etc. 10,000 opening: must get 10,000 or more in one turn to win (final round variant).
